 1972 camaro with real provable documented 2507 actual miles. this car was donated by the manufacturer to a Mississippi VoTech when the Norwood plant in Ohio went on strike in 1972. Camaro production VIN# 168650 was the last 1972 Camaro produced as per GM data. this car is VIN# 168653, it was literally 3rd back from the door when the plant closed. this is a piece of GM history and actual cash value is difficult to really establish as there are no comparable vehicles. I have buildsheets, Pics of concealed VIN and a clear Tennessee title all matching exactly. I have additional notarized  documents from the seller establishing the source and history of the vehicle, it was painstakingly prepared and done right as this out of production vehicle has a blank VIN tag like a pilot car or pre production prototype car would  have. the car had approximately 170 miles in 2010 when transferred from the school to the individual that rescued the car. it had 990 miles when I got it and in the year that I have had it its now up to a whopping 2507 actual miles. As I live a half hour south of nashville Tn and drive regularly its nerve racking owning and driving this car as we have accidents all the time and crazy drivers everywhere. I never thought I'd have a car that was too nice to drive but I just hate being worried every time I go anywhere. I literally have nothing to do or fix on the car, and I just cant bring myself to keep it anymore. I am going a different direction with my next camaro.
Engine - not original, original was probably rebuilt every year and that only works for so long, its long gone. you could always go the "CE route" for a concours restoration.
currently has a 350" 4 bolt 010 block with high flow vortech heads, lunati cam, edelbrock intake carb and air cleaner top up the engine. brand new (not remanned) 10si ac delco alternator, new fuel pump and lines, 10si internal regulator bypass installed, power steering works great, all belts new, water pump new, upgrade high dollar Mallory HEI distributor and Accel wires. engine has OE manifolds but new and true dual exhaust, sounds great not terribly loud but definitely louder than stock. I have just done a fresh oil change a few months ago, power steering fluid clean, everything serviced and needs nothing. as this is a old style small block chevy seepage around oil pan is typical. Coolant just flushed and serviced last week for winter storage. I have only burned pure gasoline and even with OE 2.73 axle this car really gets going good, powerful engine would greatly benefit from perf converter and rear axle ratio swap. battery is 850cca and 3 weeks old.
Transmission and rear end - both were "with the car"  when sold to 1st owner, I am 2nd owner. there is no reason to suspect these are replacements. I had the TH350 transmission removed, completely torn down and overhauled this spring. the only part that was bad was the front pump as it had damage from prior installations. Something about "it has to click twice" when installed. my transmission shop is excellent and replaced the front pump, all seals and gaskets, adjusted linkages to spec and reinstalled. fluid was serviced. I pulled the rear diff cover this summer, inspected and found nothing except a near pristine open diff 10 bolt in there. I serviced with spec fluid and replaced rear diff cover. U-joints are replacements also. Torque converter is stock replacement.
Steering and Suspension - the steering is tight and original, it is in perfect alignment. tracks straight and articulates freely and is extremely tight in all aspects. I just did front wheel seals, removed rotors cleaned and inspected wheel bearings, repacked with semi-synthetic moly type grease and put back together. front rotors are originals and pads are replacements. rear brake drums original and still have factory stickers in place. the front coil springs are replacement 2" hotchkis and all shocks are performance replacements. original control arms and all other suspension components original. the tires have about 1500 miles on them. the tires are Firestone Firehawks 215/65 15 all the way around. the tires are as new. replacement corvette 15" rally wheels currently installed.
Paint and Body- the paint was in good condition when rescued a few years ago. the restorer wanted to put the paint back to as new, he repainted and added Z/28 stripes. the paint is original on undercarriage and red oxide paint is very close to new. I would advise a wetsand and compound buff on the exterior if you want a eye popping finish for car shows or whatever. the windshield was replaced, otherwise glass appears to be original. the doors close good, driver door may need small adjustment but closes fine for me. pass side closes very smooth. chrome is decent and all bits are fitting good and are tight.
Interior - all original except carpet and dash pad. original seats and seat covers, headliner and door panels, all plastic trim inside original. seatbelt buzzer works great. all gages working and has a added center console 3 gage cluster added, very subtle and trimmed to appear stock, all work great. radio is a cheap retrosound and should be replaced with a GM assembly. headliner has 1 small spot where stitches are loosening but its very minor and I did'nt want to start fiddling with the interior trim and break something. original door panels decent, lower corner holes on driver door have small cracks. original seat covers in amazing condition, as is the headliner, and entire rear interior of car. 6x9 speakers added under rear deck.

In summary, this is a fully gone thru car. I would have no problem driving across country. all fluids are clean and fresh. it runs, drives, handles and stops as new. it has no electrical issues or draw, I always leave the battery hooked up. this is a very original car that could be brought back 100% stock for collectors and such or just driven and enjoyed as it currently is. This is not a cobbled together frankencar  or overrestored trailer queen with glossy engine bay with chalk marks all over the place, it is as claimed and pictures listed in auction should be carefully studied and check me on the information and story. whens the last time someone saw a Norwood Camaro with 3 build sheets ? its for real and I'm not giving it away, no problem covering it up for winter if unsold.
