For sale is a 1966 Fender Mustang solid body electric guitar. The stamp "16 SEP 66B" on the neck indicates this guitar was manufacturer in September of 1966. Includes original case.
The guitar was just evaluated, worked on, and set-up by a professional lutheir and is in excelent playing condition. The work performed included cleaning up the fret board, filling in some small nicks on the ends of the frets, replacing one pot, cleaning the other pot, jack, and switches, replacing the small metal string tee on the head stock, and performing a complete set-up and intonation. The guitar needs no other work and is in excellent playing condition. The guitar has been refinished black and the original light blue color can be seen in spots. The pickups are not original to the guitar, I believe they are Seymore Duncan's but I'm not positive. The guitar may have had a partial fret job done at some point. Other than that all of the hardware and electronics appear to be original apart from the replaced pot and string tee. I have the old pot and will include that with the guitar. In short this is a great players guitar that is set up, ready to go, and needs no additional work. The guitar plays great. The guitar has two single coil pickups, one volume, and one tone knob. The neck and fret board play very smooth and solid. The action and intonation are very good. I consider this guitar to be in good playing condition and fully stand by this description.
