This is a 1963 Chevrolet dealer Corvette promotional go cart manufactured by Barry Toycraft company. It has been beautifully restored! Professional, no expense spared restoration, kid size battery power car. Chevrolet dealers used these cars as promotional advertising for enticing potential customers to come into the showroom for the introduction of the1963 Stingray. Only 1200 of these units were produced. GM would buy this car for $285 direct from the manufacturer to use in the promotion. Later there would be a drawing for the kids Corvette go cart shown here. This car is powered by a 12 Volt battery (Not Included) using a modified Delco starter motor with an on board charger. This car would run at speeds of up to 6mph. The fiberglass body sits on a welded steel torque tube chassis that allowed independent suspension of the wheels. The instrument panel and other trim items are duplicated from the real car with heavy foil decals. A correct period dummy battery has been installed for display purposes. This particular car is believed to be the best restored example available today! The car completed a no expense spared, professional restoration. No detail was over looked from the correct drive belt to the correct battery and finishes to all original components; paying strict attention to correct paint finishes, paint quality and wiring details. All components function as they should. The body finish is worthy of any concours car show including NCRS! In fact, the paint quality is so superior that it would rival the best full size show cars of today. This car was basically complete when found. The only items that have been replaced are the wheels, tires (I have the originals) and the windshield. The bumpers have been recast from originals in fiberglass. The original power car bumpers were white, but in the interest of appearance these are painted silver. This is body #366 manufactured Jan. 9th 1963; the original body tag still remains. Some specs: weight is 230 pounds, 77" long and 29" wide. It has forward and reverse and an adjustable bucket seat. All components to the chassis were done in gloss black. No pits, mirror finish. All bolts are correct with correct markings and finishes. It functions perfectly, or better, when new. All worn components in the steering, brakes, etc were re-sleeved. If you want the best, this is it! No excuses, no illusions or hat tricks. Just the Best! It comes with its own bound picture book detailing the restoration process along with some other photos. I have copies of all the original documents from the factory. I have copies of some of the GM press releases that will go with the car. This item is for PICK-UP ONLY. Please ask questions I will answer them to the best of my ability. Buyer must pay within 5 days of end of auction or upon pick-up. We accept Paypal or cash upon pick-up or bank check in advance. Please note: There are no touched up scratches on this go kart!
