This Ford FE radiator coolant expansion tank was pulled from a 1964 Galaxie, but should work with any 61-64 Ford FE engine, or ANY FE engine for that matter.  I had one mounted to my '72 FE 390 until the project took a crazy twist and became a drag car.  If I'm not mistaken, I believe '64 was the last year they USED these though.  This one was originally black, but I chemically stripped it down to brass, gave it a quick polish on the wheel and then a shot of Brass-O.  I never understood why they would paint some of the coolest automotive brass-work ever made in the first place.  I dislike media-blasting in instances such as this because blasting leaves the finish dull.  This takes a little longer but the finished product is much more eye-catching.  This is ready to be buffed out even further, mirror polished, or... if you prefer... repainted.  The mounting bracket was carefully masked and shot with hi-temp black semi-gloss and looks GREAT!  The tank itself is in excellent condition with only a few shallow dents in one end near the neck (see pics).  Also, the steel mounting bracket has let loose from the brass tank at the solder spots on the rear (not unlike 99% of all the other tanks out there) but is still firmly attached at the front.  Will hold just fine as-is, or would be an easy repair  Add an eye-catching conversation piece to your FE powered restoration, custom, hot rod, rat rod, or kit car with a little bit of old brass!
