The Subject: The American dancer and film actress who achieved her fame during the 1940s as one of the era's top stars. Appearing first as Rita Cansino, she agreed to change her name to Rita Hayworth and her natural dark brown hair color to dark red to attract a greater range of roles. Her appeal led to her being featured on the cover of Life magazine five times, during her great career.

Hayworth appeared in a total of 61 films over 37 years. She is one of only 6 women who have the distinction of having danced on screen with Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire. The American Film Institute lists her as one of the top 100 Greatest Stars of all-time.

The Photographer: Robert Coburn was one of the most influential portrait photographers working in the major Hollywood movie studios from the 1930s to 1960s. His subjects included Joan Crawford, Carole Lombard, Hedy Lamarr, Kim Novak and Rita Hayworth, who reportedly called Coburn her favorite photographer. Coburn's most infamous portraits immortalized Hollywood's greatest icons and helped to define this era as the Golden Age of Cinema. In 1940, Robert Coburn began a 20-year career with Columbia Pictures as the head of the still production department and the studio's chief portrait photographer for many landmark films.

An 8 x 10 Black and White Portrait of Hayworth signed boldly in black "To Peggy All the Best on your Birthday - Rita Hayworth." What we are offering is a rare opportunity to acquire a genuine piece of true Americana of one of one most highly celebrated Hollywood Actresses and Photographers of all-time, along with the proper authentication (PSA DNA).  You could go years without seeing an all around quality piece such as this. Strongly Recommended!
