by Annie Mae Burton Hollingsworth
no place [LaFayette, Alabama?]: the author, ca. 1940s?; with pages plus original paper covers illustrated with a b&w halftone photo of what was likely the author's house in Chambers County.
One of the poems is set in Montevallo and I think the author must have taught there at one time. The origin of this book was a puzzle to me for many years until I found a photo of the author's tombstone showing that she was buried in Lafayette City Cemetery (formerly Westview Cemetery), Chambers County Alabama.
Names of friends mentioned by the author in this book (as dedicatees, etc.) include Jean Cameron Agnew, Kathleen Cope (author's daughter), Lala Pate Glover, Hausamann, Alderman, Gertrude Tincher, Schuessler, Mary Ford Burton, Addie Ware Wood (1944 dedication), Frances Collins Bowling and Susie Floyd Torbert.
Some minor spotting and soiling else VG condition.
NOTE: some of my scans may have what appear to be scratches and/or pencil scribbles but in actuality those are scratches on the glass bed of my scanner. Please see the scan of the plain green sheet of paper in order to identify them (though they may appear in the scans pointed or oriented differently than they are on the green paper).
(the fine print ... [sigh] ... but please read :-)
