For your consideration is this Stewart Warner console radio from 1938 with 8 tubes.

Radio exterior is unrestored with the original finish and original grill cloth.  The finish is dull with little gloss,  but not flaking, alligatored or damaged.  It is a very impressive highly styled deco radio - everyone comments on it, even people who do not normally appreciate old radios.  The wood in the cabinet is all rare exotic veneers, and there a multiple stylish compound curves.  None of the veneer is missing, and there is only one spot that has a crack, on the back of the top.   The decals for the knobs are all present.  The push button Magic Keyboard seem to work.

In working condition featuring a working Magic Eye tube.  The radio plays well and picks up a lot of stations, so it must have been restored electronically.  No hum, very good fidelity from the large speaker.  It appears to have been re-capped.  Two of the old-style can capacitors have been removed from the chassis and I can see new modern capacitors through the holes.  I purchased this at a benefit auction for the Northland Antique Radio Club, so it came from a collector.  Most of the radios in the auction were restored and working.

Plastic lens and tuning barrel (for selecting band) are undamaged.  The tuning knob and dial work well.  Rheostats and function switches are a little noisy due to lack of use.

Console also includes original natural rubber cord.
