Here is an original b&w composite photo of, presumably, the 1935 graduating senior class at the old INDUSTRIAL HIGH SCHOOL FOR NEGROES - now Parker High School - in Birmingham Alabama. Shown, along with photos of the class officers, in the 1935 "window" at the top of this oversized photo is a photo of A. H. Parker, longtime principal of the school and one of THE most important figures in Birmingham's African-American history.
 
At one time Parker High School was THE LARGEST African American High School in the world.
 
Almost everywhere you could look on this composite you will see important Birmingham black family surnames like Billingsley.
 
The photo measures 14 inches tall by 10 inches wide. The photo shows about 215 students. The photo has a tiny imprint in the bottom right hand corner, showing it to be produced in Meridian Mississippi by Lindsay Studios.
 
Comes with the original piece of backing cardboard which gives information as to its original 1935 provenance (shown in my scans and photos above).
 
Minor soiling & wear. Very Good overall.
