This auction is for a great, rare old "homemade" QSL card from SWL at 19 Cottage Street in Peabody, Massachusetts!  This card is unusual because it appears to be handmade, as opposed to being professionally printed.  The word "Peabody" is very hard to read, but the card is also postmarked from Peabody. 

QSL cards were mailed in the early days of radio, when stations were eager to know how well they were being heard.  Listeners would write in to stations, and reception details would be recorded on souvenir postcards like this one.  QSL cards often have great old graphics and technical information about transmitters, voltage, power, etc.

This QSL card measures about 3" x 5".  It is handmade entirely with red and green ink.  Reception details (including the date December 11, 1933) are are handwritten.  The radio operator looks to have been Donald Demeritt.  On the back, the card is addressed to someone in Revere, Mass.  It is missing its stamp.  It is postmarked from Peabody in 1933.  As you can see in the photos, the card has a fair amount of wear and fading from age.
