1928 Full Sovereign Gold Coin George V 22kt Gold, 100 years old, in amazing condition, from the Royal Mint to a bank vault to you Minted from 1902 to 1910, the George V design of the sovereigns is part of the KINGS category. The obverse of this United Kingdom coin features a portrait of George V, who was the second son of King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra. A career navy officer until the death of his older brother, Price Albert, in 1890, George succeeded to the throne in 1910 and ruled until 1936. An inspiring leader during World War I, George often visited the front to rally his troops. The King is encircled by the text GEORGIVS V D.G.BRITT:OMN:REX F.D.IND:IMP:. The reverse, engraved by Benedetto Pistrucci, depicts St. George Slaying the Dragon, as well as the date. The coin would appear to grade well - check out the pictures and judge for yourself!
