Visit my eBay store

Offered here is a nice old circa 1890 Transitional Navaho weaving that measures 6 feet 5 inches long by 4 foot 11 inches wide or 77” x 59”.   It is attributed to the J. B. Moore Crystal Trading Post weaving area and is in good+ condition (sees condition below or call if you have more questions).  It was handwoven by a expert weaver on a primitive upright loom of all Native handshorn, handcarded and handspun silky old long staple Churro sheep wool, both weft & warp.  This is a great borderless all-over bold stepped concentric diamond and cross motif.  The piece has a big bold design would look great on the floor.  Old great looking piece “As Is” with No Reserve.

We obtained this vintage Native American textile on a rug hunt here in New Mexico just to offer you here on eBay.  It has a smooth, even weft count averaging 18 per inch and a warp count of 5 per inch.  The selvage cords are in very good overall condition with about 10" of cord missing on one end.  Warp selvages are 2-spiral cords and weft selvages are 2-spiral cords.  The corners are all four tight with 3 being excellent and one very good. Three corners have remnants of tassels one corner is missing a tassel.   It is fairly clean & comes from a non-smoking home.  There is one inch hole in one of the orange crosses and a couple of 1” holes near one corner in the brown that have Native type repairs.  All of the damage in this piece should be able to be fixed by a professional pretty easily.  Both sides are shown in photos above.  Colors are great in this piece of old American Indian art and they are: hand carded & hand blended natural dark chocolate brown & ivory white along with hand dyed aniline turkey red, pale blue and burnt orange.  Complete with lazy lines, this example of true antique Native Americana is ready to head your way.  (17187KOK)

We are always Buying but also Accepting Consignments of genuine, quality Native American weavings to sell here on eBay.  If you have one piece or a large collection of weavings that you would like to sell, please give us a call or email to discuss. We will write a professional description and take quality photos to market your item here on eBay.  We’ll pay the eBay/Paypal fees and have a sliding scale for the commission.

The estimated sale price insurance has been figured into the shipping cost as well as the weight of the item. A Delivery Confirmation Number and Tracking Number will be sent via email to winning bidder upon shipping. Starting June 1, whatever shipping is quoted is what will be charged unless buying more than one weaving on the same day that can be packed together to be able to combine shipping. (If so, wait to pay for both until re-invoiced with combined shipping.)

We appreciate you taking a look at our textiles.  We started on eBay in 1999 and we invite you to review our feedback.  Feel free to email or call us in New Mexico (575) 278-2400, with any questions or for a more indepth condition report before bidding.  We do not charge a handling fee or buyer's premium.  We do not end auctions early to sell to email offers, but we will consider Best Offers by phone or email after an item has ended without meeting the reserve.  If a price can be worked out, then we can set up a buy it now for you.  When emailing, please include your email address in the text of your message. Sorry, but we do not do appraisals or opinions on weavings unless we have the item in our hands, by appointment.

Be on the lookout…. For everyone who has enjoyed the 100 weavings we offered from a large private California collection in the past months, well… get ready for the jewelry collection next. We have received quite a few pieces of jewelry from the same old Trader who sold quite a bit of Zuni & Navajo turquoise all up and down the West Coast in the 1970s. Most of the collection is mint from the 70s, with some pieces even older. On a quick glance…..some of the makers that caught our eye were Ed Beyuka, John Lucio, Simplicio and Morty Johnson.... There are bolos, squash blossoms, bracelets, belts, belt buckles and more. Probably will start listing pieces starting August 23!

Be sure to check back here each Thursday night at 8 pm MT for more Navajo weavings being listed… with textiles going off at 8 pm MT each Sunday night.  Our quick access address here on eBay is ranchfolksdotnet. Click on the me icon by our above feedback number for a link to our Ranchfolks Navajo Rug Co’s website.  +++  Be sure to add us to your favorites list and then check out our other items that will always include old Navajo rugs and blankets.  We always reciprocate with feedback after we receive feedback and assuring each customer is happy.  Please always contact us first before leaving less than a positive feedback as we will always want to make things right.  We are proud to be Lifetime Members of NBSSCA - The National Bit, Spur & Saddle Collectors Association where the mission is to preserve & protect our Western Heritage…….
