Letter written to, I believe, a doctor F.A. Davidson, Hillsborough, London County, Virginia on December 20, 1837 regarding Rock Minerals purchased for him, A Mr. Charles Crukshard states "I have merely time to say a few words before dispatching the coal which I have just purchased, agreeable to your request. I have sent you the best piece of (autgnolite) which I have been able to procure and some speciments for schorl" He mentions Rock Mineral speciments from Liverpool and Elba Island (Tuscany, Italy, I believe). The 2 page letter is in excellent readable condition. There is some wear but considering its age, I am sure you will enjoy reading it. It mesure 9 1/2 x 8".
