I've seen fancy far out sunglasses but these take the prize! This pair of 1962 sunglasses was in an Optician's office display and were not for sale. A friend, who was 16 at the time, and an only child, coaxed her mother into asking if the Dr. would sell them and he agreed to! (She is now 66) The secretary was very put out as she had wanted to buy them herself. Hallmarked inside right arm: "Mask France." Also a small circle I cannot decifer. I've tried my best to show them in all their grandeur. Statistics: 54 irredescent rhinestones on each side and 3 on nose bridge. 111 total! None are missing. 24 red rhinestones and 4 green on each side. 56 total! No stones are missing. Hundreds of tiny shiny metalic balls surrounding the rhinestones. There are two missing on each side of nose piece. Perhaps can see in photo #2 & 6 . (4 total) They are barely noticeable. Overall size: Front: 6/1/2" x 3 1/2" Arms: 5 1/4" The entire front of the glasses are in wonderful condition. The inside does show minor signs of age - see Photos #8,9,10, & 11. There are slight tight cracks or drying consistant with age. They have never been broken or repaired. Could be worn and fabulous for display. These were difficult to comp. as they were never intended to be sold. Other web sites have newer, less decorative pairs, for a much higher price. Questions are always welcome. I will pay for insurance for final bid value price.
