This is an original 1767 Commonwealth of Pennsylvania order for a survey of 300 acres to William Garrigues in Cumberland county and adjoins property owned by: Samuel Moore and John Ormsby. This document was dated the 24th day of July 1767 and signed by John Lukens the Surveyor General of Pennsylvania.  The survey is directed to Richard Tea, Luken's deputy surveyor.

The frame measures 14 1/2" x 10 1/2" where the actual unframed piece measures 8 1/2" x 4 1/2".

NOTE WELL...THIS PIECE IS AUCTIONED UNFRAMED UNLESS THE SUCCESSFUL BUYER WANTS IT IN THE FRAME FOR AN ADDITIONAL $30.00. THE $30 WAS MY ACTUAL COST OF FRAMING  WHEN I HAD IT DONE.  Please add $7.50 to the packaging and shipping if you decide on the frame.

This original, in laid paper, is in great condition for its 245 years of being out of the sunlight and seemingly never folded. This piece is in superb condition

This is Warrant No. 4201.

"William Garrigues hath made application for three hundred acres  of land on a spring which empties itself into the Beaver Dam in Morrisons Cove bounded by a tract claimed by Samuel Moore and John Ormsby's land with improvements by Charles Moore".

Dated at Philadelphia this 24th day of July 1767.

William Garrigues (7-26-1746 to 12-21-1831) was the foreman of the jury in the Great Bank Heist (1798) in Philadelphia from the Carpenter's Bank in that city..

This is part of my 45 year collection while a registered land surveyor in many states including the state of Pennsylvania.

Feel free to ask any questions regarding this piece.
