Be one of the few to own this piece of national history! This limited edition plaque will be auctioned off to the highest bidder. Governor Schweitzer will even personal your plaque for you! All money will help benefit the work that NARAL Pro-Choice Montana continues to do, so be generous.
During the 2011 Montana Legislative Session, Gov. Schweitzer vetoed 78 bills and created 78 plaques to represent each piece of vetoed legislation. Gov. Schweitzer stood up against the War on Women and vetoed five anti-choice bills. These policies would have taken away a woman’s right to privacy and significantly limited access to all forms of reproductive healthcare.
In 2011, anti-choice legislators nation-wide launched a War on Women. States enacted 69 anti-choice measures, the second highest number since 1995, the year tracking of such figures started. If it wasn't for Gov. Schweitzer, who was uncompromising when it came to protecting women's constitutional right to privacy, using his veto power in Montana, the national record for total anti-choice bills enacted in the states would have been broken. NARAL Pro-Choice America recognized his historical actions by dedicating the 2012 edition of Who Decides? The Status of Women’s Reproductive Rights in the United States to him.
Gov. Schweitzer has given one of these rare plaques to MSNBC talk show host, Rachel Maddow; President of NARAL Pro-Choice America, Nancy Keenan; and Cecile Richards, President of Planned Parenthood of America, and now you could win your own veto plaque.
