Please read entire listing before purchase. This is a live food starter culture of freshwater scuds, Gammarus sp. Scuds resemble a shrimp, can grow to 1/4 inch in size, and feeds on organic detritus. Scuds are a good natural food source for fish up to 4 inches long including but not limited to tetras, gouramis, catfish, and small cichlids. They are an ideal food when quarantining new fish, especially wild caught and carnivorous fish, in a bare bottom tank. For best results, culture them in a jar then feed off when needed. One of the easiest cultures to keep with minimal maintenance. Culture is also good for ponds as a consistent live food source for fish. Picture shows adults but culture will contain 150+ scuds of mixed sizes/ages. Extras are included in case of any DOAs. Scuds are packaged safely and shipped with some plants, for a smoother transition. No shipping to Excluding holidays free shipping is Monday and Tuesday USPS Priority mail only.
