MID CENTURY MODERN CHROMCRAFT FIBERGLASS ARMED SHELL CHAIR “NOT ORIGINAL COLOR”

 

CHAIR IS STRUTUALLY SOUND BUT NEEDS TLC

This Chromcraft armed FIBERGLASS shell chair is very similar to the Eames shell chair. This chair is solid and sturdy but has been painted “HOT PINK”, which coarse isn’t original. The HOT PINK paint is scratched and re-scratched! It important you take the time to click on each picture to see what I’m talking about. I’ve included quite a few pictures so you can see exactly what you’re getting. I don't think the fiberglass itself is scratched, but more like the pink paint has come off here and there which then shows the fibers and they lok like scratches.

I looked the chair over carefully and didn’t notice any breaks or cracks in the fiberglass shell. So the main issue is really the color, if you’re looking for something totally original this isn’t it. If you want something you don’t mind striping or re-fiber glassing and then color coating to an original color than you’re at the right place.

I don’t know much about the legs and the cushion do-dads between the legs and the base, so there again I’ve included a couple of pictures of this area.

Here are a few approximate measurements:

Measuring from arm to arm near the front of the set they’re 25” wide

From the floor to the seat it’s 17 ½”

From floor to top of the back its 31”
