International Orders: In purchasing, international buyers agree to accept the risk of arrival.  We cannot replace lost or seized items.  Tracking and insurance can only be added to items sent with registered or express mail.  USPS does not offer any tracking or insurance options for regular mail.  The $11.50 international insurance fee on this listing adds registered mail.  These items are trackable and insured up to $49.99.  This is the most secure method of shipping.  Please understand that a very small percentage of orders go missing without notice, most likely because they are lost or shredded by postal sorting machines.  We will send all buyers our international shipping policy email once payment is received.  We cannot ship items until we receive your reply.  They will remain on hold until we hear back. PLEASE NOTE that all communication will be sent to the address you use for Paypal.  If that address is not valid, you may reach us at the email address we use for paypal.

Shipping Notifications:  All buyers will be emailed once the order is packed for shipping.  Items will ship same day or next morning from there.  PLEASE NOTE that all communication will be sent to the address you use for Paypal.  If that address is not valid, you may reach us at the email address we use for paypal.  We are extremely busy, so please do not contact us unless your order is significantly late.

Seed counts: All seed counts should be considered estimates. Many of our seeds are estimated by weight.  These weights are often based on our supplier weights and/or the weight of the average of several samples of the same seed.  We do our best to ensure accuracy and will often add extra seeds.  However, all estimates are final.

Contact: Please understand that we are extremely busy.  Refer important issues to the email address we use for paypal.  If you have received a shipping confirmation email, your order has been shipped.

Payment: Ebay no longer offers mailed payment options.  These payment options are only available through our website using a printable order form.

Although several species of hypericum are known as St. John’s Wort, this is the one most used in herbal medicine.  St. John’s Wort is a perennial herb native to Europe and most famous for its use as a mood enhancer.  Reaching 1-3 feet in height, this plant is said to be effective against depression and anxiety while also reportedly having the ability to reduce alcohol cravings.  It has been used for menstrual disorders and to heal wounds.  It also has possible antiviral and antibacterial properties.  The use of St. John’s Wort as a medicinal herb dates back to the ancient Greeks.  It gets its name because it was traditionally hung above pictures to ward off evil on St. John’s day.  The name hypericum actually refers to the Greek words “hyper” and “eikon”, which translate into “above” “image”.  Despite its utility in humans, the plant is poisonous to livestock.  It is also an MAOI, which means it can easily interact with medications and certain foods.

Growing information

Seeds can be surface sown outdoors or started in pots indoors.  Use a rich, well-draining soil.  Spray the surface of your soil to keep it moist. Then flatten it out without applying much pressure.  Sow the seeds on the surface, and cover with clear plastic to seal in moisture.  Keep at around 60 degrees Fahrenheit in good light.  The seeds can take as long as 90 days to germinate.    Keep your plants at a final spacing of about 1.5 feet apart in full sun to partial shade.

In purchasing, international buyers agree to assume the risk of arrival.  We cannot replace lost or seized items.  You will be required to confirm that you agree to these terms before items can be sent.
