1968 Mustang or Mercury Cougar Steering Column Floor Firewall Bracket

This is an original style Mustang steering column lower firewall/floor bracket.  It fits at the inside bottom of the column and bolts through the firewall under the carpet.  This bracket holds the gasket seal where the column passes through to the engine compartment.  This bracket looks similar to the 1969-1970, but is NOT interchangeable.  It is also different than the 1967.  This one only fits the 1968 (the 1969-1970 has a clamp that bolts together and secures it to the column).  This 1968 bracket has a flange that uses two bolts with nuts to hold it together.  The 1968 does not use the clamp design.

This bracket is in fair, original condition.  There are not any cracks or major bends.  The minor surface rust and minor bending will need to be repaired and refinished.  The rubber seal is missing and will need to be replaced.

Please note:  This is a multiple quantity listing.  Since there are multiple quantities of this part, the item may vary slightly from the picture.  All parts have been inspected and match this item's description.  If you have any questions about the steering column bracket you would be getting, please ask.

Original column brackets are difficult to find and are not reproduced.  Use this part to complete your classic Mustang restoration.
