I have the pleasure of offering you this fantastic travelling & wedding ensembles worn by Bessie Belovek. One outfit was what she wore on the ship when she immigrated to the United States from Czechoslovakia in 1911. We are not sure which ship she came over on but know that it was a mail freighter; and was either the George Washington, the New York, or the St. Louis. These are the only ships that sailed from her Homeland. Her future in-laws, (Tichy), left Czechoslovakia before the onset of WWI, her future father-in-law a carpenter by trade, made pool tables. In 1913 their son Josef Tichy followed by ship, the George Washington (click on link to see a picture of the George Washington~shocking that this ship could stay afloat!). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SS_George_Washington
Bessie met Josef at a dance in Cleveland, Ohio and were married in 1915. The picture in the center of the main photo is their wedding picture & you’ll see that this is the same dress worn on her wedding day, matching the picture. There are a TON of pictures so take a close look & please read my description as these non-returnable. Every piece of clothing is in wearable condition; and are in very good condition.

About Me: It all started when I was a little girl.... Gramma gave Mom a piece of Flow Blue that had been in our family then she would pass it on to me. Gramma knitted, crocheted, & quilted but being a "lefty", I could never get the hang of knitting or crocheting so I learned to quilt & applique. My love of quilts & antiques comes honestly. I still collect but I've had to set new rules for myself... "If I buy one more quilt, one has to be sold". There's just not enough room anymore! See my other listings
Four years ago I decided to leave a 25 year career in Human Resources Management & do something for myself... spend more time with family & friends, garden when this Ohio weather allows, & hunt for quilts, vintage clothing & hats, & other antiques.
