I have just recently purchased a Microsoft Xbox 360 Elite Console and have had to make the decision as to which cable I should use to hook my system up to my HDTV. Most people have been asking which cable is better, HDMI or VGA. I could go into a long winded explanation as to which cable is better but in laymans terms here you have it. A VGA cable is relatively similiar in basic wiring structure to a standard component cable. While the VGA cable is a great cable and will enable your HDTV to produce a crisp, clear, vivid picture it is still hampered by the fact that it is taking an analog signal from the system to the TV which has to be processed before it can be used. HDMI is an all digital cable which enables your console to send information to the TV digitally which equates to total framerate integrity which enables the TV to produce the sharpest most vivid pictures possible. All in all, if you have an Xbox 360 Elite Console and your HDTV supports HDMI, that is the best way to go for the best possible picture when playing games or watching movies. If by some stroke of misfortune your HDTV does not support HDMI, never fear, you will still get a rather stunning picture using VGA. As you sit back and enjoy your game or movie, chuckle to yourself at all the people playing their Xbox 360s using a standard AV cable!!!
