Wonderful World of Fireking

I wanted to write a guide about something dear to my heart and that is Fireking. Fireking was made by Anchor Hocking and dates as far back as 1937 with the Fireking dinnerware "Philibe". Anchor Hocking made this dinnerware until 1938. It is a tinted glass that was made in pink, green, blue and clear crystal. These pieces are all marked Fireking and are getting harder to find with each passing year.

There are many different patterns of Fireking like: Alice pattern (1945-1949) in Vitrock, Jade-ite, Vitrock/blue trim and Vitrock/red trim; Anniversary Rose pattern (1964-1965), Blue Mosaic pattern (1966-1969); Bubble pattern (1941-1968) made in clear crystal, forest green, sapphire blue, royal ruby and white; Charm pattern (1950-1956) made in whte, forest green, ivory and royal ruby; Classic Rachael pattern (1963-1972) made in crystal, royal ruby and white; Early American Prescut (1960-2000); Prescut Oatmeal & Pineapple pattern (1941-1970's), Philibe as mentioned above; Fish Scale pattern (1939-1943, 19963-1965) in plain ivory, ivory w/blue and ivory w/red; Flerrette pattern (1958-1961); Forest Green pattern (1950-1965); Forget me not blue and gold floral patter (1964-1966), Game birds pattern (1959-1962); Harvest pattern (1968-1971); Hobnail pattern (1959-1979)  made in coral/green/yellow/milkwhite; Homestead pattern (1968-1971); Honeysuckle pattern (1959-1962); Jane Ray pattern (1946-1965) made in jade-ite, ivory and vitrock; Lace edge pattern (1959-1976); Laurel pattern (1951-1965) made in ivory, white, gray and peach lustre; Meadow Green pattern (1967-1977); Park Avenue pattern (1987-1993); Peach Blossom pattern (mid 1950's); Primrose pattern (1960-1962); Rainbow pattern (1938-1950's) made in pastel and primary colors; Restaurant Ware (1948-1967) made in white, crystal, jade-ite and rose-ite; Royal Lustre and White pattern (1976-1977) made in white, peach and jade-ite); Royal Ruby and Milk White 4000 line (1956-1958); Royal Ruby (1938-1967, 1973-1977); Sandwich colors (1939-1964) made in gold and green; Sandwich Crystal (1939-1966, 1977-1993); 1700 Line (1946-1958) made in ivory, jade-ite and milkwhite; Sheaves of Wheat (1957-1959) made in crystal, jade-ite, blue and yellow; Shell pattern (1965-1976) made in golden shell, jade-ite, lustre and aurora shell; Soreno pattern (1966-1970) made in avocado green, milk whte, crystal, honey gold, cranberry, smoke, blue,  and lustre mardigras and aurora; Swirl pattern (1949-1962) made in white, ivory, jade-ite and golden 22K anniversary; Swirl part 2 pattern (1946-1962) made in lustre pastel, pink, rose-ite and sunrise; Thousand Line stars & bars rainbow stars pattern (1941-1960's); Three Bands (1952-1956) made in burgandy, ivory, jade-ite and lustre; Turquoise Blue (1956-1958); Vienna Lace (1972-1976); Wexford (1967-2000) made in crystal, blue, smoke, amber and ruby; and Wheat pattern (1962-1966).

Down through the years, advertising items were made such as mugs, ashtrays, bowls, beer bottles and plates.Fireking also made shakers, batter and miixng bowls, vases and even lamps. Most are marked Fireking, but some are not.

Many of these items and pattern are quite collectible and a good investment. Of course, value goes up with tags still attached and original boxes. My mom got a large collection of Jane Ray jade-ite items from buying grocery items years ago. I love Fireking. I think it is all so beautiful and is amazing how the quality has stayed for so many years.

There is not enough room to say enough about Fireking, but I hope this has helped with some pattern inquiries and when it was made.I could go on and on about it.
