Pilots don't usually wear them, though, because polarized lenses often make it tough or impossible to see liquid crystal displays (LCDs) found on the dashboards of planes (and cars, ATMS and others)
Also, skiers generally should not use them because they make it harder to see contrast -- bumps -- in the snow.
But for everyday use, choose polarized lenses if you are outside in high-glare situations a lot. They are sometimes a tad more expensive, but not necessarily -- and it's worth it.
