What kind of items should you be SELLING on ebay? Well what kind of items are people BUYING on ebay? It's a simple question of supply and demand really. Do people really want a particular item? If so, how many people are providing this item for sale?
These are the kind of questions you need to be asking yourself when trying to decide what items to sell. Especially, when you have to purchase the item before selling it (instead of just getting rid of your junk).
Supply and demand definitely affect an item's selling liquidity on Ebay, but when you're still looking at the general categories to decide what to sell (such as electronics, toys, clothes, jewelry, etc) it is best to choose something that people will keep needing. Examples of this include clothes, appliances, consumables, and basically anything that can be broken, used up/thrown away, or outgrown.
Because items such as this have a rather constant demand, they become more reliable income for ebay sellers. Many people have made a living selling items such as this. BUT WAIT!! If a lot of ebayers have made a living doing this...then how am I supposed to squeeze in my own merchandise in such a tight market? --------------------------->>> RESEARCH!!
Research not only what item to sell but also where you can get it for CHEAP CHEAP!! Lots of people search garage sales, state sales, etc and that's all good; however, how reliable is it to find a constant supply of cheap garage sale products...maybe not so much. Try buying items from WHOLESALE websites and manufacturers. This way you end up having a reliable supply of product AND when you buy in bulk, you save TONS of money per product. You sell each item for even a NORMAL PRICE and still end up making MODERATE PROFITS however with 100 of a certain item with moderate profit...it starts to add up quick.
To keep things short here's the deal ---->> Research what people want the most...research the prices it is being sold at...buy it for way less...and sell it for normal or below-normal prices while still making a profit!
