Vintage Car and Truck Parts Buying

Buying vintage car and truck parts can be a tricky business.  It's important to understand the many terms used to describe part origin and position on the vehicle to ensure you receive what your looking for.  If the part is listed as fitting the left side of the car then it goes on the driver's side and conversely the right side means the passenger side.  Another thing to watch is use of the term NOS (New Old Stock).  In other words the part was made by the OEM (original equipment manufacturer) and has never been installed on a vehicle.  If the term NORS (New Old Reproduction Stock) is used then the part is a reproduction made by a company other than the OEM and it has never been installed on a vehicle.  Many times NORS is the only option available and most likely it will work/look as good as or better than the original.
