Using H23A VTEC Engine in place of H22A4 Engine

The H23A VTEC OBD2 engine is able to be transplanted into the U.S. model Honda Prelude and take the place of your existing H22A4 engine. The U.S. oil pump must be used off the H22A4 engine due to the crank sensor not being existent on the Japanese H23A VTEC engine. Please make sure that, if using the old oil pump, it's still good with no issues. We've seen cases in which customers have used the old one and due to oil pump failure, that may cause a problem with our engine also. When using the oil pump, you must transfer the old crank sensor from the H22A4 engine to the new H23A engine. You must also use your crank pulley as well as the intake manifold off your old H22A4 engine due to the difference in wiring in the IACV. If you have any further question, please ask your mechanic. This write up is so you have an understanding of the differences between the JDM H23A VTEC engine and the H22A4 enigne.
