This is a continuation of our other guide "Kaiju Monster Toys" as I have previously mentioned - I do not considered myself the world's greatest collector or the world's Foremost Authority on these toys - since I have limited finds and self space - I tend to collect the smaller scale 2" to 8" and mid-era manufacturers (1970's-80's) and not the larger older Bullmark & Marusan toys (well not yet anyway) although we obviously have some in our collection (our being myself and my 2 sons - one 10 one almost 3 and obsessed with kamen rider)
So along with showing some of the items we have collected - I will also give some of the secrets we have found to enjoying this great Japanese culture Icon - Ultraman and the related TV shows - which are called "Tokusatsu"which means special effects in Japanese - and is their reference to nearly all/all? Japanese TV shows featuring - masked Heros & Villians with Giant Robots and losts of Lazer firing and Explosive effects - We as Americans (or atleast thsoe who aren't avid popcultire explores) most readily know this Genre as the "power Rangers" - but most don't know that the "Power Rangers" have been an incarnation since the 1970's -
