Canadian toy company Dynatech has made a deal with Marvel Entertainment so it can introduce a combination of two kid-friendly items: candy and action figures. Dynatech is set to launch these new Edibles products sometime in the fall of 2006, and it gave toy buyers a preview of them at the 2006 American International Toy Fair.
Edibles action figures will have real moving parts, just like non-edible ones. They will have five articulated joints, so that kids can put the figures into a variety of poses. Action figures available will include characters from the Marvel Heroes repository and the Spider-Man and Friends lineup. Kids can collect the figures--or eat them.
Edibles are planned to be introduced along with a couple of other sweet treats from the company: Fizzheads and Eggtopia. Eggtopia chocolate eggs will also contain action figures based on Marvel characters. Fizzheads will make ordinary drinks fizzy, using capsules that will be able to slide up and down straws.
Dynatech will also be introducing some innovations to its already popular Atomic Blox products. Atomic Blox light up using LED technology, so kids can build creations with a futuristic take on the glow-in-the-dark concept. Dynatech plans to introduce an Infinibuild system, which will allow kids to build models with Atomic Blox that can actually move.
