Well, here we go again. I own a TomTom One XLS and have had no problem with it other than getting maps updated because it was a refurbished unit...which opened the door to my question to TomTom. I wanted to purchase another one for my wife so, looking on Ebay, several were listed as not functional, etc. Thinking this may be a way to save a few bucks, I called TomTom to inquire about repairing a unit. The RUB....TomTom will NOT repair a unit unless it is within warranty period. After the warranty expires, they will NOT, repeat NOT offer repairs to a non working unit. When asking the rather rude CSR about this policy, I inquired of her, if she as a consumer purchased a TomTom and it quit working a day after the warranty expired under this NO REPAIR policy, would she consider buying another one. As a TomTom employee she of course said she would. Now I ask you, with the cost of these GPS units, would you purchase a TomTom knowing that if it goes bad beyond warranty it is simply relagated to the round file...ie; trash can?
