Lots of times, beginner Ebayers will go through only the motions when selling items on Ebay. Take a picture, upload, description, etc. When an item sells you think "Yay my item sold for 5 dollars!" when you could really be saying "My item sold for 8 dollars just like I knew it would". The difference between hoping to sell...and actually selling depends on some factors.
EFFECTIVE SELLING
- PRETEND YOU"RE THE BUYER. Describe your item with the specifics a buyer is looking for. Add the ADJECTIVES. Even adding words just to have pickup words such as --->> "Dell Laptop! functional, black, touchpad, perfect condition, cheap, (etc.)"
- SET THE PRICE YOU WOULD BUY IT AT. Nobody and I mean NOBODY goes onto Ebay to find deals they could get at Best Buy, Walmart, or wherever...they go on ebay to save money. The job of the seller is to squeeze as much profit out from all this money saving as possible. START THE AUCTIONS AT LOWER PRICES, keyword lower. If it's a popular item that you know will get views then start at a very low starting bid to REALLY attract buyers; HOWEVER, if it's an item that you don't know will sell, then start at the lowest price you can afford while still making SOME money (even just a little).
- WHEN YOU SELL AN ITEM, BRING BACK THE BUYER! If you have bought a lot of things from ebay then you know that many sellers will attach a paper inside your package that says something like---> "Thank you! Don't hesitate to buy from me again!" or something like that. Basically as a seller, your main objective is to bring in and bring back as many customers as possible...duh of course... but how to do it..? Be FRIENDLY, and when I say friendly I mean DON"T BE ANNOYING, but at every possible point (purchase, shipment, questions online) be as ACCOMMODATING as possible.
Lastly, always always always reroute the customer back to your Ebay selling items or Ebay page.
These strategies might seem basic, but the reward will be anything but. Thank you for your time.
