Whether you are starting out with your first puppy, adding a 2nd puppy to your family or are getting an additional crate for your dog(s), size is the first consideration. Even though we have a teacup dog and teacup puppy, we chose to go with medium size crates for each of them. Our dogs are the best of friends, but our puppy won't give our older dog any peace if they had to share the same crate!
Decide what size crate you feel would best suit your pet. Small may not be roomy enough for even small dogs. Is there enough room for a couple of toys, food & water bowls? If you're training your puppy, is the area roomy enough for a training pad at one end? Once you have determined what size will best accommodate your pet, the next decision is what type of crate do you think you'd prefer - soft or steel? Puppies and some older dogs too may chew on a soft crate, making it somewhat useless. We chose Pet Gear's Medium Size Steel Crate. They come in a variety of colors and also come with a zippered carrying bag and a nice soft plush bolster pad. Pet Gear's Steel Crate has some other great features as well. The top easily flips open and all 4 doors may be opened. The front and back doors swing open and both side doors roll up like a garage door. This makes it very convenient not only for letting your pet(s) in and out, but also makes it much easier when time comes to clean them.
Pet Gear's Steel Crate does not require any tools for assembly and fold flat & are a real space saver when you take your pets along when you travel. They are sturdy and durable, stylish and practical. Everything you could ever need for your pet(s).
