Shopping for holsters: Know your weapons

When you decide to acquire a holster for your new handgun, there are two very important factors you must know, (1) the make and model of your handgun (2) the barrel length. These are the two most important factors in order to properly fit a holster of your choosing to your weapon . There are literally thousands of handguns in the same caliber and/ or different calibers that require different sized holsters and just knowing the caliber will not help you properly fit a holster to your handgun, besides if you own a weapon, you should know your weapon and everything about it, nomenclature, specifications, proper handling and use, or it will be useless to you and just get you killed instead of serving the purpose intended. Whatever type holster you choose, go to the range and practice drawing and firing your weapon from that holster, or when you get in a jam you may die without firing a shot.
