Shipping Green!!!

Free Shipping Materials

Delivered Right To Your Door (or Mail Box)

Environmentally Friendly, Too

Everyone today is talking about doing this thing or that thing - GREEN.   We've just got to do things in a way that saves the planet.

When I started my eBay store, I went through all the same problems everyone else seems to in trying to save on shipping costs.  But at the same time I want my packages to be safe from damage.

What am I gonna do?  I don't want to take the time to run around to all the stores and ask for their cast off bubble-wrap and styrofoam peanuts (which I hate anyway - they stick to everything).  I read all the Guides and information about getting eBay branded boxes (for free) and USPS boxes delivered right to my house, so I pretty well had the box situation covered.  But still what am I going to put in those boxes to float the items I am shipping safely to their destination?

Then I realized I already had all the packing material I could ever need - being delivered right to my house six days a week.

How is that possible, you ask?

The United States Postal Service delivers my favorite packing material to me every single time they deliver mail to me.  Yes, that is exactly right...USPS, six days a week.

What is the one thing we all hate to get in our mailbox, yet it still arrives every day (except Sunday) almost without fail and almost without exception?

JUNK MAIL

That's right, I said Junk Mail.

Unsolicited Offers

Political Mail

The list goes on forever.  I get envelopes, newsletters, newspapers, sales flyers, catalogues and of course there is always the junk added into every bill (that I would normally read and throw away).

Today that all has become my packing material.  All I do is run it all through my shredder (regular strip shredder not cross-cut), mix it up and put it into my packages in place of styrofoam peanuts.  Just fill up the box all around the item I am shipping, so that item is floating in a sea of shredded paper; almost like a cocoon and it is just as safe as I could possibly need it to be.
