When we all startout on ebay we tend to ship the most expensive way ups and that really hurts the selling price of your items. The best way i have found in shipping is using the post office you can insure, ship anywhere and you can get free packing boxes etc.. and it does not cost the buyer a arm and a leg. When charging shipping try not to stick it to your sellers it is fair to charge for packing the item buying a box tube etc... And gas to get to the post office i try to never add more than 3 dollars over my cost for postage. so 4.05 plus a tube and gas +time would be 6.99. Buyers know when you are over charging for shipping and they will not bid and you will lose money. Also pack the item the best way you can that really helps your feedback also. A good way to figure out shipping on your item is to buy a scale and weight it and the use the calculator at postcalc.usps.gov and then i would pad it a few dollars because it can be off by a little.
Rember if you are using a priority mail box of envelope it is a flat 4.05 maybe a little bit more if it weight i over the max. Your item will get there very fast nd always try to ship as soon as your paypal , check or money order is cleared. Buyers love fast affordable shipping.
You can also buy priority mail stamps at the post office it will save you time also make sure you know all the size rules the us post office has or you might get you package sent back to you but don't worry they will help you correct it with out charging the original postage again.
