Sell on Ebay and Make MONEY!

Selling Your Jewelry for Money!

Most ladies have an abundance of jewelry, some they wear often and enjoy, and others they haven't worn in years.   Whether it is costume or fine jewelry, the favorites are usually kept close at hand.   I started collecting ST JOHN couture jewelry in the 90's and enjoy wearing some of it but I couldn't wear all of it, so I kept in curio cases and enjoyed looking at it.  Many of the pieces still had the sales tags on them and were like new.  I also collected Chanel jewelry and purchased most of it in the early 90's in the city (San Francisco).

When you wear elegant jewelry that you paid a pretty good sum for, you enjoy it in a special way because it is special.     Sure it is nice to get compliments on your hand picked designer's pieces, but that is only a small part of why you love the pieces you own, it is how you feel when you wear it!

Well, at some juncture, maybe because of lifestyle changes - we start thinking, what do I need with all this beautiful jewelry.  I retired from a high pressure job and became more relaxed at staying home, enjoying family and taking on hobbies that I used to enjoy.   I wasn't wearing the jewelry very often and it seemed like a waste just sitting in boxes or cases.   Someone told me I should try sellling it on ebay.   I had never sold anything on ebay, so I was game to try it.  I felt it might be interesting and started with a few pieces.   I also put a few ST JOHN suits on ebay.  I was amazed that my items received attention and soon the bids started coming in.   I sold all my items the first week.

Ebay shopping and selling is easy for the busy lady

Many women that enjoy wearing jewelry on their jobs, don't always have time to shop in stores.   They can shop online after hours on weekdays or weekends.    Many times their schedules or calendars are full, so shopping is hard to fit in.  Most of my jewelry was sold through the weekday.  Maybe someone takes a break at work and go shopping on ebay.   You can find lovely jewelry on ebay and you pay through paypal is easy.  If you collect certain lines, it can be entertaining to bid on a piece and win.     Sometimes you can find "just the thing" and also there are times you get a bargain.

If you have jewelry you are not wearing or haven't worn in such a long time you can't remember, maybe you would like to sell it.  Put the money to better use - buying something you have wanted for a long time.     Now, I have continued to sell my jewelry and many of the vintage/antique items I collect earlier in my life.   It should keep me busy for a long time just selling items I am not using any longer.    Some sets have never been worn,  I probably bought for a certain outfit but changed my mind and didn't wear it.

I put some of the items I sell on ebay in "auction mode" open for bidding since I am not sure what price to put on it.    The "buy it now" option is interesting because you put a price on the item and it sells for that price. If the starting price is too high, you can add "best offer".   If you put the item too high and no one takes a look, then you can adjust the price.   It is wise to take lots of photos of the items so the buyer can take a good look and tell what you know about the item.

I know selling on ebay is easier than I thought it would be.  Selling my personal jewelry and items makes me feel better because someone else is getting the enjoyment of wearing it.
