So can you you get the best price?? Yeah Gold may be $1500-$1800 as an ounce when you look on line, but that is PURE 24K Gold, available for dealers to move around. Your 14K Gold bracelet or 10K wedding ring from your first marriage is not the same.
The street jeweller is trying to 'Get in' on the 'Gold Rush' they tend to pay on the low side. The shopping malls are another lower price., Pawnbrokers do fair a little better, coin shops pay higher as they are used to smaller margins, look for a sign that says ‘Gold / Silver Refiner’ these guys can cut out the middleman.
The Hotel Shows! Probably the worst place to go, avoid at all costs.
Expect some to pay DWT or grams and of course Troy Ounce, this is slightly different from the US ounce, a conversion can be found on a google search, just search 'Convert US ounces to Troy ounces.
