All of the Kershaw brand knives I sell that are Assisted Opening Knives have the Safe Speed feature.The core of the Safe Speed feature is the torsion bar. The torsion bars does double duty with Assisted Opening Knives as it also works to keep the knife closed preventing it from being opened by gravity. This way the only way to open the knife is to apply manual pressure on the thumb stud. One the knife opens the blade glides along it's track and is held in place with the same force from the torsion bar. These knives are the easiest to use and are some the best quality available.
