REPRODUCTION Winchester Deluxe 71 70 Super Grade Sling Swivels

A few months ago I was presented with a very large lot of over 50 Winchester Super Grade, Deluxe sling swivels. The seller gave me a price that was too hard to believe. So after the red flags and warning bells went off. I took a few out and started examining them.

After a few seconds I realized that even though they were ALMOST exact copies. They were in fact not original but reproductions. I have no idea where or who had made them. And the person I was going to buy them from stated he had no idea either.

And today I just found a set on eBay that are listed as; Winchester 70 Super Grade Swivels & Stock Pad. There are two ways to know if they are reproduction. On some, but not all of these. The pin that goes through the sling swivel hole is larger than the original. But not all of them have this!! The only true way I found is this. The hole where the pin goes through the bar to hold the swivel in place is larger than the pin. You can see daylight around the pin. That is the only true way I know. And this said auction you can see it clearly. Even if there is no clear picture of it, the last picture one magnified shows this.

And with the price of these hitting $100 or more. These fakes are going to be coming onto the market place. So be careful!!
