Ready to fix your MacBook Pro, iMac, MacPro or even your iPad ?
I have at least 5% of my customers that buy the wrong part, this just results in wasted time and extra costs. The correct way to buy the right replacement part for your Apple product is to first figure out which product family you have. For example MacBook Pro from 2007 have the number A1211 or A1226 printed on the case, not by the serial number but on the actual case itself. Once you know the product family you figure out which part you need. Now get the part in your hands, often there are lot's of numbers printed on them like 820-xxxx or 630-xxxx, these numbers are not the holly grail to finding the right part for your Apple Product. While many times they are a good lead, often multiple machines used the same 820-xxxx logic board for example. In case of the iMac G4 17" & 20" G4 both 1.25 Ghz logicboards could have the number 820-1599 printed on them. But very important the boards DO NOT interchange between the 17" and 20" models. The only way to buy the correct model logic board if you have a 20" iMac G4 is to shop by EEE code !
What is the EEE code of your Macintosh Part ?
The EEE code of you Apple part is part of the serial number of the part itself. So locate the part of you macintosh that you are trying to replace, find the sticker with the serial number on it. The EEE code is the first 3 of the last 4 letters of the serial. So in case of a QUAD G5 logic board it is xxxxxxEEEx or xxxxxxxR80x. Now when you see a listing with a mention EEE code in case of the QUAD G5 logic board you will see a list of all the possible once R80, UM0, UR0, URA, VU7, VU8 you only need to match one of them. And if you currently have UM0 and get R80 that is no problem. Getting the correct EEE code part is the absolute way of ordering the correct part. Should one of my listings not contain the EEE code for an item it most likely doesn't matter, but if it does contain it please make sure you have a match when ordering.
