Proper Handling Projector Light Bulbs Projection Lamps

About Projection Lights Lamps BulbsTubes Valves

Thanks for Stopping By Cyndee$Attic  : )

I hope you Find This *Guide a bit Helpful I have done quite a bit of research but

I AM NOT an EXPERT.....

the Manufacturer of Your Equipment is the PRO please refer to all original supplied manuals

Here are some factors that could result in short life of a lamp..

How you handle your Lamp/Bulb & Equipment

directly relates to the proper operation & Life of the lamp

The Lamps you Purchase from my Store  Cyndee$Attic

Are all Cleaned & Electronically Tested

(Except MR, ARC & GAP Filament Mini Sub-miniature Lights)

before being Carefully re-packaged  shipped to you

  • Before installing the bulb, Visually check inspect bulb for damage. DO NOT INSTALL IT IF THERE is ANY TRANSPORT DAMAGE

  • ~~~~IF you go ahead and USE IT  a carrier claim can NOT be submitted this is the chance you chose to take

  •    ( I do not accept USED lamps on Return)

  • Carrier Damage may result no matter how perfect a packaging job!

  •  DO NOT TOUCH EVER GLASS with bare fingers.

This accounts for 95% of Bulb Failures

use a soft cloth paper towel

(or wear cotton gloves) (Yeah right I'll bet you will go out and buy a pair)

Avoid turning Lamp on & off splice smaller reels on to  large reels

  • DO NOT Bump the projector  this can cause instant failure
  • purchase a DIMMER for slow start this will extend the lamp life tremendously
  • If you have inadvertantly touched the Glass,

take the time to carefully clean it with a Good Glass Cleaner or Alcohol on a soft Cloth

  •  Handle lamp with clean dry towel (or cotton glove). I mention this but most people do not put on gloves

  •  Also, make sure bulb is warmed up /or cooled down to room temperature before installing.

  •  Be Sure The Power is OFF on your Equipment

  • neat trick =use a switch dimmer installed in line for slow start (as stated above)

  •  Be sure the fan is operating properly and your projector is free from DUST

  •  When used , bulb may shatter or explode if very cold, or if it contains fingerprint oils or moisture.
  • The bulb also may develop a HOT SPOT or bubble  where you may have touched it

  • This is especially a concern for Halogen and high wattage/temperature bulbs.

  •  Be sure and use the correct manufacturer's replacement lamp per your Equipment guide

  • I will be glad to assist in finding YOUR application

  • (I do not beleive in Substitutions that's like putting Vegatable oil in your engine's crankcase)

  • If you find a lamp that looks  like your lamp it's a good start to locating the right lamp

  •  Email thru Ebay with whatever info you have & I WILL  Find YOUR CORRECT LAMP

  • (providing your equipment has NOT been modified)

  • NEVER Just Go by the Photo there are too many Variables... when in Doubt ASK..  it's FREE!

  •  NOS lamps have no determined life expectancy!

No one can predict the Life expectancy of a lamp   Not Even the manufacturer

so have a spare on hand so there is no disappointment

  • Voltage plays a major roll in the life of a lamp.. power surges

  •  turning the lamp on & off all shorten a Lamps life

  • IMPACT : do not hit the projector  or the lamp.....  absolutely Don't Drop it

it's already been dropped a dozen times by the carrier before you received it

  •  Force can damage the alignment of the lamp causing it to not function properly or damage the filament

  • I do not illuminate any Projection Lamps ...as it causes carbon to the filament,

they become brittle and they do not transport well

  • I Carry many Brands of Lamps SYLVANIA  & GE (MAZDA &Westinghouse Division) Lamps are Usually available for more $

I also have Ushio,Wiko, Eiko, Radiant, Riluma  these are normally less expensive

  • My prices are as best to market as I can get  ..  as my supply diminishes the price increases

  • Overstocks are priced accordingly if i have 200 Sylvania DAY lamps you will see them priced to go...
