Persian Rugs...What is Authentic Persian Rug

An Authentic Persian Rug or carpet is hand knotted and have a specific design ,using superior materials, dyeing processes, and designs that have been used for thousands of years.

Over the past few decades, other countries such as India, Pakistan, and China have tried to copy the designs. The term “Oriental” carpets incorporates these other countries.
However, only rugs made in Iran are true, Persian carpets.
Persian rug designs were once named after the city in which they were created.
 As their popularity increased, these patterns became produced elsewhere and kept their original names.
 Persian handmade Tabriz rugs , Hamadan, Gabbeh, Heriz and Serapi  are some of the most popular designs that have kept their regional namesakes.
Characteristics of a Persian rugs include rich color combinations and unique designs.
