The Pazzles Inspiration is an electronic die cutting maching that hooks up to a computer. The machine comes with software that lets you create your crafting projects. This machine is one of many electronic cutting machines made by Pazzles.
The machine is really easy to use, and the software is similar to a basic photo editing program. When starting the program, you can open a 12X12, 8.5X11 or put in your own size project. There are toolbars lining the sides of the screen. Then once you click on one of the buttons, more advanced buttons pop up across the top of the screen.
When you are making lines or shapes in the program, you can change the colors of each of the lines and when you go to actually cut your project, you can choose to cut one color of lines or shape at a time. This is especially helpful for layered paper piecings and shapes with outlines or shadows.
This machine cuts 12X12 so that makes the machine HUGE! This is NOT portable and weighs over 10lbs. I have a "normal" sized computer printer and the Pazzles Inspiration is much larger than my printer.
The machine cuts with a blade similar to the Cricut machine's blade. The top knob on the blade holder can be adjusted according to the thickness of the material you are trying to cut.
The Pazzles Inspiration is a great machine and really does so many things. It costs $599 and can be ordered on pazzles.com and hsn.com among other places. I would recommend this machine for someone who is serious about paper crafting. This machine can be used for many other things besides scrapbooking including home decor, stamp making, card making the possibilities are endless.
Some of the Pazzles Inspiration's functions:
*will cut the mirror image of whatever you have on your project
*will cut a box around anything you are cutting
*can adjust the text spacing between each letter
*you can break text up so you can change a single word or letter
*can add a stencil bridge to any shape or letter -if you don't know what this means (I didn't until I saw the picture), this is like the gap in the stencil for a letter O so that the hole part stays connected to your stencil
*can cut letters out of any shape you make or use from the program, like cut writing out of a heart, star, etc
*can cut out any shape with decorative scissor patterns, and can even adjust the size of the designed scissors so you can have large zigzags or small zigzags, etc'
*copy and paste, scan, or upload your own graphics to edit in the program
*convert any graphic into a clip art drawing
*trace around any photo to make a die cut out of it
*add 3d effects to your text
*wrap texts around a shape like a circle or square
*can have your die cut copied and then cut around a circle -their example in the manual shows butterflies flying around in a circular pattern
*can make an outline around any shape or letter or word
*can distort your text so that it looks like a crown shape or rounded on top or triangular shaped on top, etc
*can join any selected elements so that they cut out as one attached piece

This is the screen that opens up when you go to choose your font. It lists every true type font that you have on your computer and will show you a preview of the font.
