One Pound 1878 Morgan Silver Dollar Proof

This is a One Pound Replica Coin that is made of solid COPPER and clad with .999 fine silver.
It also comes with a certificate of authenticity from the American Historic Society.
It is NOT pure .999 silver.
The amount of silver is very small.
I have seen some advertisements  that say everything about this coin being a REPLICA and then stating that it is .999 fine silver, one pound.  Do not buy this coin thinking you will be getting one pound of silver.  You will get one pound of copper and a negligible amount of silver.  The back of the coin only says One Pound and nothing about silver, so make sure you can see the bottom of the back of the coin.

The coin would make a great paper weight, it comes originally in a purple cloth drawstring bag, in a serialized plastic case, and with a certificate of authenticity from the American Historical Society.  On the certificate the title word dollar is spelled 'dollr.'
I have seen one auction from A1 something replica store that had ended and they had sold it for ~$349.  Claiming it was pure .999 silver, which it is not.
This person (dwhanlon) is currently selling one claiming it is 10% silver... this is false and he is asking $75.
This person (sumnerg) is being mostly honest in the description and tells you it is copper clad with silver for $59.99.

There are One Pound Silver coins out there, the back of the coin will say .999 fine silver.  Buy it from a reputable dealer.
