For beginners or someone who just wants clear photos w/o much muss in pressing buttons this would be fine. It's easy to operate but finding a good used one may be tough and far as i know your only choice.
I got mine new but after a few years it died so i got a used one from ebay and it has been perfect.
Close up's are a but fuzzy but if you use photoshop etc then you can clear them up easily.
Date/time,wide screen pic's or normal.I used my old one that died in las vegas, day and night with super results a few years ago.
Simple memory card slides right in and i can even slide it into my photosmart printer if i want.
Tends to use up battery power fairly fast so,nicad batteries w/a charger is best or if you get lucky to find a great used camera you hope to get the a/c adapter and never have to use batteries again.
Overall it has been a solid camera with little fussing of any buttons etc.
Someday i'll get a new digital unit but until then, this one will be perfect for my needs mainly ebay pictures.
