Is this the end of selling World of Warcraft items on eBay?
I went to list one of the products that I have written "Thinecron's Gold Guide" through my eBay store and it finally happened. I can't list it. It appears that eBay is cracking down on those people who sell gold and accounts through eBay.
Ebay has now put a stop to some of the keywords used in auction listings. For those of us selling guides, it means that we cannot use the words "gold" and "account" in our listings when we have the words "World of Warcraft" in the title. So if you are listing a World of Warcraft Guide and you get to the end of setting up the auction and it states the following:
It appears you are offering virtual game items gaming accounts, currency, leveling, etc.
These items are not permitted in the eBay Marketplace as a stand-alone product or as a bonus item.
Please revise your listing by removing the non-permitted items.
All you have to do is remove the words "gold" or "account". The words "gold" and "account" were highly searched keywords, so now us WoW sellers will have keep an eye out for new popular searchable keywords. My guess for the newest big keywords will be words like "strategy" "guide" "download" and words to describe gold "cash" "money" etc.
Another option that some sellers have had success with is writing an email to the eBay support team and requesting that the restricted keywords be removed from your account.
I just hope that eBay continues to allow us to sell our guides without any problem. Some of us depend on the income. My Thinecron's Gold Guide is the main reason that I have achieved powerseller status and I hope that others sellers who have purchased the resell rights to my guide will be just as successful. If eBay were to shut down the selling of guides then alot of us would suffer! Let's keep our fingers crossed!
Best of Success to All!
