The end of the "numbered" Jordans era has ended with "23". There is no suprise that Nike decided that the 23 was going to be the last in this series but what has suprised me is how little they have hyped the 2009's. A slightly off subject analogy here, but if you remember when beanie babies dominated Ebay and then "The End" (the actual name of the bear) came out there was a huge surge to find that bear and put it on ebay knowing that this was going to be the last of the last. Well 3 months later Ty came out with a whole new series, but the drama was gone along with the following.
Has Nike created The End and tried to restart a brand that is less hyped than ever. Most of the Jordan brand players perfer to have their own shoe based on a previous version, just look at Carmelo and Chris Paul CP3. Additionally as the memories of Jordan fade and we have new superstars like Kobe and Lebron all getting paid big money by Nike, how much marketing dollars is Brand Jordan allowed to spend on Retro's? The best thing for Nike and Brand Jordan to do now is re-create the original jordans to their original specs and re-release them in order as they did 24 years ago. Image the lines that would be created if Brand Jordan decided to release a made in Italy Jordan again! Jordan will forever be rememebered as the greatest of all time, let's hope that Nike does not take the greatest shoe line of all time and drag it down with junk!
