Hello to all the new mothers out there!
I have a tip to share that might just make those nighttime feedings a little easier on you and your baby.
If you have a nursery, or space available near your baby' crib or rocker, here is a tip that works really well. I have a brand new granddaughter and while I enjoy being with her have found a shortcut to the feedings.
Just keep a gallon jug of Drinking water, (not nursery water, it's more expensive and the doctor recommended that I use the drinking water) a can of powdered formula, and (in a ziploc bag) several sterilized bottles next to the baby's bed.
As soon as your darling wakes and is ready to eat, it takes only a minute, tops, to fix her a bottle and she is happy and you don't have to make the trip to the kitchen to warm up a premade bottle. You pick her up, feed her about half the bottle, burp her a good ten minutes or so and by this time she gets sleepy so now you can chose this time to change her diaper and that wakes her up enough to finish her bottle. After another good burping session, she is ready to nap until the next feeding.
Just put the used bottle in another zip bag for cleaning in the morning, and you never have to go to your kitchen in the middle of the night again!
You can also buy the really big zip bags and keep the whole jug of water in it if you are worried about the water getting turned over and spilling.
Hope this little tip helps someone because it's a granny's dream!
