Feedback ratings are what helps customers find quality vendors and it helps them to feel comfortable about an online purchase. eBay and PayPal have gone to great lengths to make transactions as safe and painless as possible but there are occasionally people that get on here to sell fraudulent items are to try to cheat you somehow. Here is where you come in.
In the rare or unfortunate instance where you find a less than reputable vendor, and you feel that you have exhausted reasonable efforts to get the problem corrected, then by all means tell everyone about it by using the feedback system. It is a powerful tool. But like everything else, with power comes responsibility. Read and understand the feedback rules and suggestions and follow them, right from your first transaction. I’m sure your eBay experience will be better if you do.
I’m not complaining at all, but at the time I wrote this, I had 1643 positive feedbacks and 10 negative. Out of the 10 negatives, 2 are somewhat justified (we made a mistake, and then made another when we tried to fix the first one – no excuses). Out of the 8 remaining
- All 8 did not follow eBay feedback guidelines.
- 7 of 8 had less than a 25 feedback score.
- 4 out of 8 had initiated several negative feedbacks with other vendors
I will now remove myself from the soapbox to which I stand. I hope you found this helpful, if so, please indicate that below. THANKS Terry D.
