Jeremy Bloom is one of the most multi-talented American athletes playing today. He grew up in Colorado and quickly took to the ski slopes, making his first run at the tender age of three. Thanks to early days of alpine and mogul skiing, it was no surprise to anyone when Bloom made the U.S. freestyle ski team as a teenager and became the top freestyle skier on the planet before turning 20.
After performing well at the 2002 Olympics and the U.S. Nationals, however, Bloom turned his attention to NCAA football at the University of Colorado. He ran into controversy when the NCAA forbade him to play football and take skiing endorsements at the same time. Bloom responded aggressively in the press, and he became a major advocate of amateur status in sports.
Despite the fracas with the NCAA, Bloom managed to pull off impressive numbers during his two years at Colorado, and on April 30th, 2006, the Philadelphia Eagles drafted him onto their roster. Bloom also scored big on the track during high school and college.
Thanks to his profound performances, winning personality, and exceptional good looks, Bloom got offered a modeling opportunity for Tommy Hilfiger and an MTV documentary special about his life. He continues to pursue dual athletic interests, and he has garnered a major fan base, both for his on-field heroic exploits and for his off-field charm. His many athletic pursuits make him an ideal fit for the world of sports memorabilia collecting.
