Dear beaders and designers
There are so many confusions about namings of stones today.
Professional sellers on eBay like us are often time forced to follow market or trade terms for semi-gemstones to get
them found in the listings.
Imperial Jasper aka Impression Jasper is a good example for this.
It is manufactured mainly in China, like the majority of any other semi-gemstones nowadays. Basically it is a
Variscite, that is dyed in a solid dying process and is now available in very beautiful and appealing colors.
To recognize dyed stones: if the colors are very bright and resemble pop colors how you know them from other
printing or dying industries, you can be sure that in the most cases the stone is enhanced.
There is basically nothing to worry about. The only thing that matters are your requirements:
1. if you need 100 percent natural stones and you are not sure with an offer: ask the seller and compare with
published knowledge.
2. in most cases the price of a stone will give you a hint - supposed the seller is not clear himself or is even
trying to fake or cheat - a dyed or otherwise enhanced stone is -as a rule of thumb - mostly cheaper then a natural
stone.
i hope this will help and clear things a little up.
there will further guides in the coming month -stay alert- and we wish good inspiration for your projects
